Beginning Knitting – In Person Studio Class Series

There are 3 in person studio classes included in this series that are designed to take you through the basics of knitting and have a good basic understanding of the process. There will be an intermediate series following this one, and it will involve things like socks, basic lace and sweaters/cardigans.  (Starting December 6th!)

A washcloth. This introduces basic knitting concepts such as casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, binding off and gage. Information regarding yarn size, needle size, fiber types and different accessories that make for an easier process.

Supply list/Kit: size 8 (us) Circular knitting needles (all needles will be supplied at first meeting), Cotton yarn, Darning needle, Instructions, and written information regarding basic information covered in class. Kit cost: $20.00 (included)

A cowl. This will continue with the concepts learned in the first class, and take them a step further with the addition of circular knitting, and combining stitches to form a pattern and using different weight yarn and different size needles.

Supply List/Kit: size 13 Circular Knitting needles, Wool blend yarn, Darning needle, Instructions and pattern for cowl. Kit Cost: $20.00 (included)

A hat. This will finish up our beginning series and add ribbing and decreases to our knowledge.

Supply List/Kit: Size 8 Knitting Circular Needles, Size 8 DPN’s (double pointed needles), Darning Needle, Striping Yarn, Pattern and Instructions. Kit Cost: 24.00 (included)

These projects and patterns are all chosen so that finishing them up either in class or within the week in between, is not a problem.  

The cost of the entire package, class and inclusive kits is $120.00 for the entire 3 week session (Dec 6th, 13th and 20th from 2pm – 5pm).
